If you like the idea of nature walks, this area is just for you. It’s hard to believe that there is so much on offer in Cyprus and there is even a dedicated website available where you can browse through comprehensive information on the activities offered by the organisers. There are lots of breathtaking green walks which you can sign up for allowing you to enjoy what Cyprus has to offer with the added bonus of keeping you, and your family and friends fit and healthy. Here’s a summary of what’s on offer:

NatureofCyprus

NatureofCyprus () contains extensive searchable information, including thousands of photos, on Cyprus nature, its flora and fauna and natural attractions. Major sections include Birds, Plants, Mammals, Reptiles, Mushrooms and Natural attractions. The Natural attractions section includes information on beaches, walking routes, wetlands, nature monuments (very old trees), waterfalls, etc and it is further divided into subsections based on proximity to town/major resort for easy navigation.

Cyprus Walks Etc (), a sister entity of NatureofCyprus organises and escorts customised walking trips all year round for interested small groups to itineraries that combine Cyprus’ rich nature and cultural heritage as per group preference. Major destinations include Troodos mountains, Paphos Forest and the Akamas peninsula. Trips include a visit to a Unesco World Heritage Troodos painted church, a Venetian medieval bridge, a watermill or a well preserved traditional village and usually a meal of authentic Cyprus cuisine at a village restaurant, which for many is a highlight of the trip.

Cyprus Walks Etc also organises independent self-guided walking trips. They organise weeklong walking trips on specific in-house designed routes. Walkers are provided with all relevant information include maps, navigation text and elevation profiles for the route, and Cyprus Walks Etc takes care of accommodation and meals (where required), transport and luggage transfer. Cyprus Walks Etc routes draw on the best Cyprus offers in terms of nature and cultural heritage and concentrate on Troodos and Akamas. Some of the routes include walled Nicosia and a walk in Pentadactylos mountains. Some routes have long walks per day and others short (which makes them suitable also for summer).
